Repurpose

An iconic façade

Our client W.RE have commissioned a sympathetic refurbishment of this Grade II listed landmark to transform the former department store into a mixed-use office and retail scheme befitting the building’s iconic history. A new two-storey CLT and GLULAM extension offers best-in-class office space providing a vista across central London from the newly created roof terrace amenity space and restored showpiece cupola tower.

B&CO have been acting as Project Manager and Employer’s Agent since 2019 to deliver the development which seeks to restore the dilapidated nineteenth-century building to its past riches. The scope placed emphasis on achieving strong sustainability credentials alongside implementing SMART building technologies such as WiredScore Platinum and bespoke Smart Building App to provide users with a superior office experience.

The B&CO team are due to oversee the completion of the works in Q4 of 2023.
