Another project and another PC announcement.

This time it’s our 3 New Street Square project making it over the line. Located between Farringdon and Chancery Lane, this is the newest addition to the Landsec’ MYO flexible office portfolio.

We started the year off right with the PC of The Typewriter in Borough.

Originally constructed in 1957 as the HQ of an office machinery business, the building has undergone a vigorous revival to welcome it’s new tenant @workdotlife

A change of scenery is just what we ordered!

This year we took the team to Les Arcs 1800 for our annual Team Building ski trip. It’s a perfect way to strengthen the teams’ bond and get out of the office for some well deserved downtime.

This International Women’s Day, we take a moment to celebrate the exceptional women in our team who contribute across various roles.

The opportunities for women in the construction industry are endless, at B&CO, we are committed to supporting and empowering women in construction, actively working to break the mould and bias of women in construction.

Joining the team in 2023, Harry is the second member of our apprenticeship programme. Studying part-time at college and being fully immersed in various projects, he is eager to learn the industry.

To celebrate National Apprenticeship Week 2024 we sat down with our first ever apprentice, Liam, to gain some insight into his experience of the scheme. Here’s a snippet of what he had to say.

Now the scaffold is down and floors are beginning to become occupied, it’s easy to see all the hard work and immense effort that has been put into restoring the Arding & Hobbs building.

It’s been a journey to say the least and we are so proud of what has been accomplished.

Thank you to everyone who has been a part of the process!

Walking inside Arding & Hobbs you’re welcomed with terrazzo tiled floors and feature brass writing at the main entrance.

You are hit with both modern and traditional features, notably the stained glass barrel roof and dome, which had been concealed with paint dating back to circa. 1950.

The impressive atrium, which is cladded in American Ash, is flooded with light from the 24m high lightwell.

It’s great to be able to look back and see how far the building has changed between now and then. Construction work began back in August 2021 and wrapped up back in Q4 2023.

Despite its stature and historical significance as a Grade II Listed building, Arding and Hobbs was in need of a new lease of life .

It was imperative that the building kept its original features and iconic look and feel, whilst modernising and unlocking its full potential.

Careful restoration of the brick and stonework facade, and its heritage timber windows was undertaken, as well as the famous Cupola. This is now the focal point of the roof terrace, taking its place neatly amongst the dense urban greening and the new two-storey bronze extension; The Crown Jewels if you will.
